Ill Manors e-media: website analysis

1) Examples of the Ill Manors branding can be shown with the logo that is present on the top left side. There is also the hashtag which also presents the Ill Manors brand. There is a link with Ben Drew who is the director for the film as this is also another aspect in the branding for Ill Manors as it would be shown with the logo as "Plan B Presents". This can show that Plan B is a major part in the promotion for Ill Manors. Another aspect of branding is the fact that it says "A Ben Drew Film" which can also emphasise as to how the director is a major part in promoting the film since this could show that Plan B has a strong following. Another part of the branding would be Riz Ahmed wielding the pistol. This character has been seen in a majority of the promotional material which could show that he is another strong aspect in promoting the film and the branding as a majority of the time we seen the character in adverts, we see him with the Ill Manors Logo.

2) The website tries to encourage people to buy the product by having to try and promote it in different ways. Some of these could include the graffiti on the wall of a house. The other way to promote the film would be through informing people at the top which offers a variety of methods for people to obtain Ill Manors.

3) The Plan B website features social media at the top right which links to the various social platforms that he would use. The website also features a variety of Plan B 's tweets in the homepage. He also features a filter on the wall that would feature content from a specific social platform such as Twitter or Instagram.

4) This text mainly talks about the unanswered questions such as why the riots occurred and how it could be prevented. This would talk about his opinions on the riots and how he thinks his media such as the Ill Manors music video would impact his audience. This is mainly shown with the links with texts such as the TEDx Lecture which although may not be of text but had still shared the same impact on changing the perception of people on youngsters after the events of the riots. He is mainly trying to combat the stereotype of young teenagers who are perceived as bad by giving them the spotlight in his music and his film Ill Manors.

5) Social Media is taking over for film promotion for what I think is an obvious answer: it's cheap. In comparison to having to pay a lot of money on print advert which could range from posters to billboards, they could instead promote the film in a cheaper option with tweets. This could link onto the Two Step Flow Model as to how opinion leaders can express their opinions and promote the film through word of mouth. Since these opinion leaders might have a strong or decent following, this might result in more awareness for the film. Twitter allows people to retweet their posts so that content such as trailers can be accessed by the many people who would have received this in their notifications and trust the content if they follow the opinion leader.
